Emotional De Bruyne bids farewell to Man City.
Every Manchester City fan wanted the chance to celebrate or assist Kevin De Bruyne's last goal at the Etihad Stadium, but were denied it after an almost unbelievable open goal miss.
Instead they were given the chance to pay tribute to Belgian Omar Marmoush, who fired the season's top scorer against Bournemouth to take his team one step closer to Champions League qualification.

The team was indeed strong and full of energy, but Marmoush extended the lead with a magnificent 30-yard strike. Bernardo Silva, who came on as De Bruyne's replacement after Mateo Kovacic was brought on, and Nico Gonzalez completed the job to take City to third place.
- But the day was for De Bruyne, as he bid farewell to City's home support, who will receive a statue to remember him. Pep Guardiola, in a tearful tribute to his influence on the club, showed his impact on the club.
De Bruyne was making his 421st appearance for the clu,b wearing the captain's armban,d and was greeted by his three children as he emerged from the tunnel, a 60-foot-tall Tiffany with his picture on it. Today was his day, but there was still work to be done.

De Bruyne's post-match lap of honour never seemed so difficult given the weather. After failing to score in the last two games, City's ball was freed with a shot like De Bruyne's rocket. But not the Belgian, Marmoushe took advantage of the ball, leaping from his feet and firing a shot that dipped and turned, caught fire in the air, and then was gone.
The moment everyone had been waiting for arrived in the 25th minute. Marmoush passed from six yards out on the left and slotted it into De Bruyne's net. In his previous 141 Premier League home games for City, he had finished the job with his eyes closed. This time, his attention wandered for a second, and he hit the ball against the bar.
De Bruyne walked away with his head held high, knowing he would never get a better chance for a perfect finish. "It was horrible, horrible," De Bruyne said of the miss. "There are no excuses. My son is going to be very hard on me today."
Silva doubled the lead, a rare occurrence that saw De Bruyne slip, and City were in control from then on. The only question mark was when Kovacic was sent off for pushing back Evanilsson, but the one-man gap lasted a few minutes as Lewis Cook was shown a red card for a reckless challenge on Gonzalez, who later scored a superb solo goal.

Rodri's first appearance since suffering a ligament injury in September was as a substitute. Rodri returned to the team on a positive night for City courtesy of a late consolation from Daniel Jebbison.
De Bruyne's children and wife joined him in a guard of honour of fellow players, chanting "There is only one Kevin De Bruyne". He was asked to make a few comments in between but Guardiola could not contain his emotions as he broke down in tears.
A video of former teammates, family, and friends was shown to the audience, which left them in tears. On the pitch during his time at City, De Bruyne was able to maintain his composure when it mattered. "It's time to say goodbye. We love you and see you soon," he said

Manchester is our home. These little kids were born in Manchester. I came here with my wife, Michelle, to stay here for a long time. I didn't expect to be here for 10 years and do what I've done as a club, as a supporter, as a team-mate. We've won everything. We've made the city, the club even greater."
With the decade drawing to a close, De Bruyne is leaving with six Premier League titles, a Champions League winner's medal, and a lifetime of memories for the fans. "It's a sad day, he'll be missed, no doubt about that," Guardiola said.
His final game at Fulham on Sunday will give the next generation the best platform to repeat his feat.
- "It's been incredible, the 10 years I've had have been incredible. It's been an incredible journey," De Bruyne said. "I wanted to have fun, and we've had a lot of fun in these 10 years."
No one was arguing with him inside the Etihad Stadium.
