Just seven minutes into the first half, Quinn Sullivan opened the scoring with a quick catch from outside the defense off a corner kick. The 21-year-old midfielder had time to settle inside the box and fired a beautiful shot past goalkeeper Oscar Ustari. That lead was then extended just before half-time with a powerful right-footed finish from Baribo.
In the second half, Inter Miami came out looking for goals with renewed vigour, and within 15 minutes, Jordi Alba had reduced the deficit when he headed in Tadeo Allende's cross. The goal gave Javier Mascherano's team more momentum, and they went on the offensive,
left space for their opponents to exploit quickly. Once again, Baribo found himself unmarked in the box to score, although the play was ruled out for offside by VAR.
