Azura Stevens and Kelsey Plum each scored more than 20, and the Sparks defeated the short-handed Fever 85-75.

INDIANAPOLIS -- Azura Stevens scored 23 points, Kelsey Plum had 21 points and six assists, and the Los Angeles Sparks snapped a four-game losing streak with an 85-75 win over the short-handed Indiana Fever on Thursday night.

Indiana was without Kaitlyn Clark because of a groin injury. Clark, who recently missed five games with a quad injury, returned on June 14 and scored 32 points, helping the Fever beat the Liberty 102-88.

Plum made a 3-pointer with 4:13 left to put Los Angeles ahead 67-66, her first since the first minute of the second quarter. She added two free throws on their next possession to make it 21-8 at halftime in the third quarter.


Los Angeles tied the game with two offensive rebounds less than a minute into the game. DeRica Hamby was fouled while putting the Sparks ahead 79-75. She missed a free throw, but Stevens made it and made a three-point play with 49 seconds left to make it 81-75.


LA won by eliminating Kaitlyn Clark.

Hamby and Rika Jackson each scored 14 points (5-11) for Los Angeles. Kelsey Mitchell led Indiana (7-8) with 20 points, and Aaliyah Boston had 12 points, 10 rebounds, and five steals.


Indiana led 31-22, then Los Angeles went on an 8- run0 run, with Shay Peddie's 3-pointer putting them ahead by 1. Sophie Cunningham answered with a 3-pointer, and the Fever led 34-30 at halftime after 15 turnovers.
