FIFA Club World Cup: Bayern Munich secure first place in knockout stage with win over Boca Juniors.

Bayern Munich advanced to the knockout stage of the Club World Cup with a stunning win over Boca Juniors.

England captain Harry Kane scored twice as Bayern Munich beat Boca Juniors to become the first team to reach the knockout stages of the Club World Cup.

Striker Kane put the team ahead from 10 yards in the 18th minute, before Miguel Merentiel equalised in the second half.

With six minutes remaining, Kane passed the ball to former Crystal Palace winger Michael Oliseh, who scored the winner with a superb, side-footed finish from the edge of the area.

A final group game against Benfica will secure a point for Vincent Kompany's side and a possible last-16 clash with Chelsea, if the Blues finish second.

Enzo Maresca's side is currently second in the table after a 3-1 defeat at Flamengo on Friday.

"A great performance from the boys," said man of the match Kane Dajon. "We knew it wouldn't be easy, and we were coming through a tough environment. To score goals and qualify is great."

Bayern, however, are concerned by an injury to Germany international Jamal Musiala, who came on as a second-half substitute after 25 minutes.

Boca's defeat ended the South American side's nine-match unbeaten run. However, if Benfica loses to Bayern by seven goals, the Argentine giants will still have a chance of progressing.
