Liverpool extended the lead by beating City at home

Manchester City put Liverpool to the test with numerous attacking moves. They were ahead in many indicators. However, Liverpool did the real work in intelligent football.
Arna Slott's team overcame a major obstacle to reclaiming the title by defeating the English champions in a test of intelligence and strategy.
On Monday, Liverpool won 2-0 at the Etihad Stadium in the English Premier League. After Mohamed Salah put the team ahead, Domenech Zboszlai doubled the lead.
Liverpool consolidated their top spot with 64 points from 27 matches, with 19 wins and seven draws. Arsenal are in second place with 53 points, having played one less match.

Nottingham Forest are in third place with 47 points from 26 matches, level with Arsenal. City are in fourth place with 44 points after their eighth defeat in the same number of matches.
City had 66 percent of the ball and had 16 shots on target, five of which were on target. However, none of this tested Alisson too much. Liverpool, on the other hand, managed to get four of their eight shots on target.
Liverpool took the lead in the 14th minute in a match that was full of attacks and counterattacks from the start.
After the first corner of the match, the commentators were saying that Arna Slott's team had not conceded many goals from corners this season. Liverpool's players seemed to respond to theirs with a clever goal.
Alexis Mack, from Alistair's corner, flicked the ball to Szoboszlács at the near post. Salah flicked the ball from the penalty spot and fired a powerful shot into the net. But luck was at its back. The ball went to Ederson's feet after being caught by a City player.

It was Salah's 25th goal of the season. Erling Haaland is second on the list with six goals less. Despite dominating the attack, City struggled to create clear-cut chances.
In the 30th minute, Omar Marmoush's shot found the back of the net. However, the City forward was ruled offside and the goal was disallowed.
Liverpool went 2–0 up seven minutes later, with Salah's pass to Joboszlai coolly finding the back of the net. City were under pressure in the second half with a series of attacks, but they were left short of Haaland in front of goal.
Liverpool focused on counter-attacking and found the back of the net in the 56th minute, but Curtis Jones was ruled offside.

Two minutes later, Marmoush's curling shot went just wide of the target. Another good chance for City was missed. Liverpool were unable to get much out of their own half in the face of City's constant attacks.
However, despite having so many feet in the D-box, the hosts struggled to get shots on target.
Jeremy Doku had a chance in the 72nd minute, but Alisson had no trouble saving his shot as it wasn't very powerful. City played in the same rhythm for the rest of the game. But they couldn't break down Liverpool's strong defense.
